Responsibilities

  • Lead the tone and storytelling expression of the Edelman Financial Engines brand across all touchpoints.
  • Partner with art directors to create integrated campaigns that drive brand relevance and performance.
  • Develop ideas that simplify complex financial topics into clear, emotionally resonant stories.
  • Mentor and coach writers, helping them elevate their craft and voice.
  • Collaborate with brand strategy, content, and product teams to ensure a unified creative vision across every channel.
  • Push the creative boundaries of what financial marketing can be — without losing clarity, humanity, or trust.
  • Maintain a high standard of creative excellence across all written work, from conceptual campaigns to everyday content.
  • Champion the role of writing and storytelling within the broader Edelman Financial Engines culture.

Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in brand storytelling and creative writing, ideally across both agency and in-house environments.
  • 5+ years leading and mentoring creative teams.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates conceptual excellence, clarity of thought, and range of tone across mediums.
  • Proven ability to turn strategy into story and insight into language that moves people.
  • Deep familiarity with modern content and campaign ecosystems — from brand film to digital and social.
  • Curiosity for how creativity, technology, and human behavior intersect — and how language can move between them.
